Join Women Fly Fishers of Idaho for this annual FAMILY fly fishing trip to Bruneau Sand Dunes State Park, south of Mountain Home. The outing will run from Friday night to Sunday morning. We will be fishing the pond behind the observatory, at Crane Falls, as well as at Cove Arm.

For those who are unfamiliar with the area, members who have been here before will be happy to help you get to these fun fishing spots. Post a question on our Facebook page, reach out to a member from the Membership Directory or contact Liz Pollard, our event coordinator.

Note: This is a float tube event, with very limited fishing from shore/dock. We camp in the Eagle Cove area, and each person is responsible for their own reservation. Some sites allow two tents, but vehicles must park by the restroom/shower area, which is close by. If you are tenting, it is customary to pay $5.00 per night to your RV host/WFFI member to help offset their park registration.

On Saturday we will have our annual Potluck Dinner/Party with Boise Valley Fly Fishers. This will take place at 4 pm in Bruneau Campground Shelter A & B. The BVFF group furnishes hamburgers and hot dogs, buns, condiments, and paper goods. We provide side dishes and desserts. No signup is necessary – just bring what you wish to share. After the potluck, most people fish the pond behind the observatory.

If coming up for Saturday only, please be at Eagle Cove Campground by 8:30 am or Crane Falls by 9:00 am. You can fish Cove Arm if you prefer. The bass should be out. If participating in the potluck be back to Bruneau Campground Shelter and ready to eat by 4:00 pm.

Be aware the pond can get quite windy and rain is also a possibility. The mosquitoes can get brutal so do NOT forget the bug spray! Besides fishing, there is bicycling, hiking, dune hiking, and visiting the observatory. A schedule of events/shows is listed on the Pavilion bulletin board.
