Clare Libby will explore the unique challenges and rewards of fly fishing as a woman, and provide tools and knowledge needed to navigate the waters with confidence!
Clare is an avid angler and outdoorswoman who is dedicated to all things fishy. With years of experience on the water, Clare is skilled at both fly fishing and traditional spin/bait casting methods. She is passionate about sharing her love of fishing with others and has been able to turn her passion into her career as a fly-fishing guide. She’s also a new member of our club!
Clare has guided trips for anglers of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. She enjoys helping people catch their first fish on a fly rod and also relishes the opportunity to help experienced anglers hone their skills and improve their technique. Clare is also a conservationist and believes in the importance of doing her part in protecting our waterways and the species that call them home.
Clare says “I believe that fly fishing is not just about catching fish, but about connecting with nature and experiencing the peace and tranquility that can be found on the water.”
When not on the water, Clare loves to hike, ride dirt bikes and go on adventures with her four-year-old daughter Louie, and their chocolate Labrador.
The meeting will include a short presentation on waders and related gear. We’ll try to answer the burning questions – what do I really need? Where do I get all this stuff? And how do I put it all on to go fishing?
Both the Meet & Mingle and presentation are open to all women. You do not need to be a member to attend.
Members please Register on our Meetup page so we have an idea how many are coming. Non members can just show up without an RSVP.
