Club Fly Tying – EZ2C Poly Parachute
Winter is coming which means it’s time to tie flies! Â Patti Bantam is hosting a tying event at her house on November 15th for experienced club members. Â We’ll be tying a dry fly pattern called the EZ2C Poly Parachute. Â You don’t need to be a tying expert, but this class won’t be suitable for beginners. Â If you’ve had some basic fly tying classes, you’ll likely do just fine. Â Patti and other experienced fly tyers will be on hand to help.
There is no cost to attend this event but you’ll need to bring your own materials, vise, and tools. Â If you don’t have all the materials, vise, and tools needed, Patti will have a limited amount to share. Â You might also post something in our FB group to see if others who are attending need materials and buy some materials together and split the cost. Â The club also has tools and supplies; you’ll need to reach out to us beforehand so we know what to bring.
Here’s the recipe for the EZ2C Poly Parachute:
- Hooks: Size 10 to 20 dry fly hook, 1X long
- Thread: preferably brown in a size appropriate for fly size (or color of choice)
- Tail: Moose hair
- Wing Post: Orange poly yarn/antron/parapost
- Body: Hare’s ear or any fine dubbing in brown tone (or color of choice)
- Hackle: Brown tone rooster cape, size appropriate for fly size (or color of choice)
- Super glue
We are limiting the event to 10 people. Â Address will be provided closer to the day of event. Â Please bring a drinks/snacks of your choice if you want something to nibble on.
PLEASE NOTE: when you register, you may get a website error message after you pay. Â This is a glitch in our system we can’t seem to work out. Â If you receive this error, DO NOT try to register again. Â Please check your “My Events and Bookings” page in the Member Zone to conform your registration went through. Â
This is a members-only event so if you have friends or family members who want to join us, please have them sign up for a WFFI membership and instruct them to book their spot.
