All-Levels Fly Tying Session

Do you tie flies or want to learn?  Prior to our March meeting, we will be hosting a fly tying session at Idaho Fish and Game starting at 5pm.  If you’re an experienced fly tyer, bring your equipment and materials and work on a few flies.  If you want to learn, we have 8 vises, tools, and materials for you to use.  We’ll teach you how to tie some simple but effective flies.  We’ll limit this to 8 new fly tyers since we have limited vises.  Please use this event’s thread in the Member Forum to let us know whether or not you’ll be using our equipment.  Additionally, if you are using our equipment, you’ll need to “book” a ticket below in addition to your RSVP.

Please note!  This activity is in addition to the Meet and Mingle. You’ll have a choice on which event to attend.

Remember, we aren’t using MeetUp any longer, please scroll down to register for this event.  If you can’t attend PLEASE change your RSVP here on our website!  This is a members-only event.  Have a friend who wants to come with you?  Have her become a member and she’ll have access to our day trips, multi-day outings, seminars, and more!

We have set up a Member Forum to discuss the details of our events.

If you’re an experienced tyer, bring materials for whatever flies you’d like to tie during this time. If you’re a beginner, we’ll likely be working on midges. Bead: 2-3mm, hooks: size 14-16 (large for a midge but if you’re new, small hooks aren’t easy to learn on!), small wire, your choice of thread color (black, brown, grey, olive, red are good), and whatever head cement you use (if you use it).
