May 2025 Meeting: Fly Fishing Entomology: Matching the Hatch

We have an exciting presentation this month!  Hillary Greatting and Jason Fearheiley will be talking to us about matching the hatch.

Jason is from Pueblo Colorado and has been fly fishing since grade school. He purchased his first fly rod from a local fly shop on layaway. He graduated from Colorado State University in 2006 with a fisheries biology degree. He has years of trout experience working at Colorado parks and wildlife with some experience with Idaho Fish and Game.  Jason also works at Anglers Fly Shop when extra help is needed.

Hillary met Jason in her undergraduate training at Colorado State University. She has been fly fishing with Jason for over 20 years. She is a veterinary neurologist by trade, but has a passion for inspiring women to experience outdoor endeavors, specifically snowboarding and fly fishing.

Jason and Hillary moved to Idaho in 2015 and have fallen in love with the Idaho steelhead. Since in Idaho, they have learned to row and explore local water with their drift boat or rafts.. They have also started working on endeavors with spey casting.

The equipment sales table will be open for our May meeting! It’s a fantastic opportunity to find top-notch equipment at affordable prices, or if you’ve got some extra fishing gear you can sell it here. Cash or Venmo are the preferred payment methods.

Please note! Our presentations begin at 7pm.  We arrive at IDFG at 6:30pm to open up the building for social time, raffle tickets, merch/sale table shopping, and give folks time to settle in their seats from 6:30-7pm.  If you arrive prior to 6:30pm, the building will likely not be open.

Remember, we aren’t using MeetUp any longer, please scroll down to register for this event.

We have set up a Member Forum to discuss the details of our events.
